Sledding in Central Park

Our first time sledding in Central Park was a blast! The kids didn't have snow gear so it made for a very cold experience. We went with friends from our small group. They are a neat family we have enjoyed getting to know. After Grace's feet were so cold and numb, Derek pulled her all the way home on the sled. He told me to take a turn so he pulled me right across Columbus Ave. It cracked me up! It was the

highlight of my day!

Chess tournament

Grace played in a chess tournament on Sunday. I'm pretty impressed she knows how to play. She learned last year in 1st grade. Everyone got a trophy when it was over. She had so much fun, she and her friend Colton went back up to play during the lunch break.

Grace's report card

Her teacher nailed her! She thrives on being first, needs an extra push, fiercely confident about her math skills, but the one I love is that she is the light of her life! What I sweet compliment! She is the light of my life, too! What I love is that I pray that she would be the light of Jesus to all the people she is around. I love her! 💗

Grace's new bible

Grace found this bible at Barnes and Noble today. If you know Grace, this is totally her! Inside the cover it reads, Your promises are so sweet to me. Psalms 119:103. She asked her dad to read it to her and then later tonight she was reading it by herself. ☺

Milk bubble tea

Had Korean BBQ and Milk Bubble tea for the first time tonight. Loved both. This drink you see in the picture is called milk bubble tea. My friend got coffee based, I just did a milk based tea. It is a mix of tea, milk, sugar and tapioca balls at the bottom. I'm hooked! If you have a place to try one in your town do it or when you come to NYC make sure you get one. You won't be disappointed. Yummy!

Milk bubble tea

So yummy. Tried Korean BBQ and milk bubble tea for the first time tonight. Both were winners. The milk bubble tea is a tea based drink invented in Taiwan with tapioca balls at the bottom. You suck it up with a wide straw. I loved it!

Matt Damon

Oh my Gosh!!!! He was just walking right up Amsterdam by himself. I was walking to get Grace from school. After I past him I turned around and said "Matt". He turned around and I said, "I shouldn't really ask this because I live here, but can I get a picture with you"? He said sure! Then he said, "smile".

More of Piper

Grace got out her American Girl bed for Piper tonight. She stayed in it for more than 5 minutes. It was the cutest thing to see that tiny dog in a doll bed! I'm smitten!

Jenn's baby Noahlee

Some of you know I am privileged to be a part of The House on Beekman in the Bronx. Two years ago, before I moved to Manhattan a young lady named Sara moved from a place of privilege in Manhattan to one of the poorest neighborhoods in the Bronx when she saw the needs of the people out there. Six months ago, I started teaching a Parenting class offered for the first time to these ladies. I feel so honored to do this and humbled at the same time. I think this class has helped teach them skills they hadn't thought about. My hope is they learn skills to be better parents to their children and stop abusive cycles they were taught. These ladies have come to trust and love us. It's been a God thing!
This is where I meet Jenn. It came to my attention that all three of her children, including herself and her husband sleep on cushions and blankets on the floor. Derek and I went out today to visit Jenn and her 3 day old baby. Jenn shared with us that she can't remember the last time she slept on a bed! Soon they will all have beds! TRinity Grace Church, being the hands and feet of Jesus.
