Saying Goodbye

Derek's Aunt and Uncle and cousin came to Ocala to say goodbye to us. I married into one of the best families. Not only are they some of the most generous and loving people but they are a lot of fun! Aunt Cheryl passed out some bubble gum after dinner and we all had fun blowing and pop[[posterous-content:pid___1]][[posterous-content:pid___2]][[posterous-content:pid___3]][[posterous-content:pid___4]][[posterous-content:pid___5]]ping each others bubbles. Wish we would of captured more of the fun. I will miss them but have a feeling we will be seeing them again real soon![[posterous-content:pid___0]]

Our new apartment

Derek was gone for 9 days to NYC to find our apartment. He was also there to attend some leadership meetings with TGC. Derek and I had seen an apartment on Street Easy that looked really nice prior to him flying there, but one thing I wasn't too sure of was that it was furnished. Not all my furniture is really nice, but I have some sentimental pieces that I don't want to part with. Also, I want to make that space my own. I had been looking to reupholster some wing back chairs in leopard print but I could never find a fabric that I was in love with. Now I know why. God had this furnished apartment in store for us all along.

The first day Derek was looking at apartments, this furnished apartment was the first one he looked at. And wouldn't it be God, that this is the exact apartment that we fell in love with and that he provided for us. Unheard of. People look for days, and weeks for their first apartment. Jon (Pastor of TGC) flew into the city three different times until he got his first apartment. Anyway, this process grew my faith in such a profound way. We had a lot of obstacles we had to overcome but in the end God wanted to get the glory for this apartment and he did. Without his provision it would not have happened. Let me just mention that TGC has been so good to us. They ended up providing an additional 2 months rent on top everything else they have done for us. To get into most apartments in NYC, they require 1st, last, security deposit and the brokers 12% fee. It is a pretty penny to just sign a lease on an apartment. It took about 7 days from first seeing the apartment to all the paper work, etc to be done for it to be ours. When Derek sent me a picture of the keys to our new apartment, I

cried. I was so relieved and thankful to the Lord for showing up and giving us more than we expected. Oh, I didn't mention, our apartment is 1/2 block from Central Park and from where the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade starts. I will be there this year!!!

Kenlsey's 13th Birthday Party

Kensley celebrated her 13th birthday party with her friends in Amelia Island last weekend. Her birthday is not until June 30th but we will be in NY then and she really wanted a party. Derek and I picked up the girls from school and I surprised them with charm necklaces that represent something from the beach. I think they all liked them.

The condo was unbelievable. It had four bedrooms and four bathrooms. It was swank to say the least. When the girls walked in, they ran all around and screamed about how cool the place was. Derek made a joke about calling somethin STAN, mabye it was the rental car, so the entire weekend everyone and everything was STAN. Even the fish you see that the girls decorated. :-) Kensley had a good time with Lindsey, Karlee, and Sylar. Oh, and Derek and I had a lot of fun too. We ended up finding 7 sharks teeth! We have been looking for them I think all our married life. It was really neat!

Church Planter's Conference

Derek and I have been going down to Boca for the last 10 years or so. Spanish River Church has funded us to plant two churches in the last 10 years. We go down there each year to give them an update on our church. This year we decided to take our kids. I am really glad we did. They got a chance to meet Jon Tyson, Caleb Clardy and Zac Williams. A few of the Trinity Grace Pastors. Those three guys are super cool and funny. None of our kids had meet them before so to see how well they connected to each of them made me feel so good. It got Kensley excited about NYC because of Derek's cool friends!  Kensley even woke up each morning to make it to breakfast on time to see them. I didn't get any pictures of them this time but here is glimps into our weekend. I ended up taking the kids to the beach while Derek was in some meetings. Also, a few pictures of some amazing church planters' wives from around the world.

Grace was baptized on Easter Sunday. It was a joyous day for Derek and I. Grace had asked to be baptized for over a year. We wanted to make sure she really understood what it means to say you are a christian. The night before she was baptized Derek sat her on our bed to talk to her. He said tomorrow I will ask you a couple of questions in front of everyone. She made one of her many faces. He went on to say, "I will ask you why you want to be baptized and what will you say?" She said, "that I believe in Jesus." Derek said, "well a lot of people believe in Jesus but to be baptized we are telling everyone we are chosing to follow Jesus." She said, "Oh, well, I have been doing that for a long time now! We giggled together and realized she completely understands. We are so proud of her!
